Benefits

Financial incentives of £3000 per annum attached to this post paid over 12 monthly instalments.


Responsibilities

* Provide support to the Physical Health Team within the secure Health Centre and administration staff.
* Work unsupervised when performing investigations both within the Health Centre and at ward level.
* Assist with escort duties, internally and externally for both patients and visitors.
* Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
* Competently perform venepuncture and ECGs within the Health Centre and at ward level as directed by the requesting clinicians.
* Operate the radio communications set when required and be conversant with hospital radio network procedures.
* Undertake full control and restraint training, manage situations of actual and potential C&R issues using approved techniques or verbal de‑escalation skills.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills to convey factual information to patients and overcome barriers to understanding.
* Work collaboratively, sharing knowledge and experience with peers to provide support through teamwork; participate in regular team meetings.
* Demonstrate appropriate skills to deal with patients with challenging behaviour and adapt to unpredictable demands of patients and service needs.
* Assist with therapeutic monitoring of all relevant medication, being aware of data information systems.
* Be aware of patients' well‑being, taking into account mental, physical, security and potential violent issues, reporting any concerns to the nurse in charge.
* Maintain responsibility for the Health & Safety aspects of the environment for self, colleagues and visitors.
* Maintain quality control checks of all equipment within the Health Centre.
* Support Mersey Care’s vision of becoming a leading organisation in community, mental health, addiction and learning disability services, utilising skills and experience to support Trust objectives.

* Operate within any organisational codes of practice or those from a relevant professional body.

* Take responsibility for accurate and timely collection and recording of data and ensure all personally identifiable information is protected and used only for its intended purpose.
* Comply with all health and safety legislation and local policies and procedures.
* Adhere to all organisational policies.
* Have knowledge and understanding of technology in the workplace sufficient to maintain efficiency and empower service users in a digital environment.
* Comply with the NHS Constitution relating to staff responsibilities for NHS employees.
