2 nurse-led inpatient beds for patients in their last days of life wishing to transfer from the acute hospital
Renovation work ongoing to offer fee-paying respite inpatient beds, starting with a pilot project of 2 beds
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical leadership and specialist palliative medicine support to Saint Catherine’s Hospice and the community
To promote a culture of continuous improvement and integrate clinical governance within practice
To actively participate in the clinical governance structures at the hospice
To actively participate and lead in current and future audit and research projects. Commercial and other research projects take place in the hospice and are encouraged with good links and support from the Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre in Hull.

Qualifications Skills Knowledge and Experience
* MRCP or MRCGP or equivalent
* Higher speciality training in Palliative medicine
* Full registration with GMC and inclusion on Specialist Register (or due to achieve CCT within 6 months)
* Medical Degree
* Higher qualifications in Palliative Medicine eg. M.D. M.Sc M.AA. Ph.D
* Working in an independent Hospice setting
* Experience of leading a medical team
