Job Overview
Adult Services (Learning Disability and Autism) provides a range of high‑quality care and support for adults with learning disability, autistic adults and adults with complex needs with assessed need. Adult Services (LD & ASD) comprises a Supported Living Service, Supported Vocational Activity Service (Eric Gray @ Seafield), Short Breaks and Respite Service (Newcraigielea), and the Assertive Community Transition (ACT) Service (intensive support). All services are Care Inspectorate registered and part of the Shetland Community Health and Social Care Directorate.
The Senior Social Care Worker – Supervisor’s role includes ensuring that individuals receive high standards of care and support in accordance with relevant legislation and national guidance associated with the service.
Additional Information
* The grade of this post is J.
* This post is career graded – your salary will depend on your experience and qualifications. Due to the temporary status of this post the candidate would not be supported through a qualification.
* Salary shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,859 per annum (pro rata).
* Temporary Full Time post for 37 hours per week, 52.18 weeks per year.
* Temporary contract for a period of approximately 6 months.
* Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
* The successful candidate must complete registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) when they begin in post.
* A relocation package does not apply to this post.
* We will pay interview expenses from within Shetland.
* You must have the ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice and where public transport is limited.
* We are happy to talk flexible working.
