Academics is working closely with a welcoming primary school in Llantwit Major to recruit a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant. This full-time temporary role starts in September 2025 and offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils in general classroom settings as well as through targeted one-to-one and small group work, including support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
Key Responsibilities:
Support classroom learning across a range of year groups
Provide one-to-one support for pupils with ALN
Deliver small group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and social skills
Assist with classroom routines, resource preparation, and behaviour management
Collaborate with teachers, ALN coordinators, and support staff to meet pupil needs
Promote an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment
Minimum Requirements:
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 preferred)
Experience working with children in a primary school setting
Minimum of two years' experience supporting pupils with ALN
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Academics)
Two recent professional references
Positive, patient, and proactive attitude to supporting learning
