Location: Wolverhampton
Pay Rate: A GBP 13.58 : A GBP 13.95 (PAYE) + 12.5 shift allowance + OT
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Welder to join a busy manufacturing team. This role involves performing welding operations to a high standard, following technical specifications and safety procedures, while contributing to overall production efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare for welding by reviewing Weld Procedures, SOPs, Work Orders, technical drawings, and parts lists
* Collect and inspect all necessary parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials prior to welding
* Carry out welding on components such as rods and cylinders, using appropriate welding methods
* Inspect components for damage or defects before use
* Ensure non:welded parts are protected from weld spatter and potential damage
* Perform visual checks and dimensional measurements to verify quality and accuracy of welds
* Notify supervision of any defects or quality concerns
* Conduct basic preventative maintenance on welding equipment and report any repair needs
* Complete production documentation, including batch cards, inspection records, and maintenance logs
* Maintain a clean and safe working area in compliance with all company procedures and health and safety regulations
* Work independently, demonstrating an understanding of SOPs, quality standards, risk assessments, and COSHH documentation
* Participate in relevant training to support performance and personal development
* Take responsibility for identifying and managing any health, safety, or environmental risks related to the role
Key Requirements
* Previous experience welding TIG and MIG or MIG only
* Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications
* Knowledge of welding techniques and safety standards
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Capable of working independently and taking initiative
* Flexible, reliable, and safety:focused
* Willingness to undertake further training as needed
