We are currently seeking a Process Controller to work in the Swindon Region, based at Latton WTW. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a team that helps produce millions of litres of water for customers.
Reporting to the Swindon Production Site Manager, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the effective and continuous operation of the sites across the region, including 7 Water Treatment Works.
No experience is required as full training will be provided! A current manual driving licence is necessary, as this role involves travel and includes a van.
Once trained and with your Licence to Operate, you may be part of a 6-week Standby Call-out Rota, covering 1 week in 6, with additional pay.
Base Location: Latton WTW GL7 5QF.
Working Pattern: 38 hours per week, 07:30 – 15:36.
Responsibilities of the Process Controller
1. Visiting remote sites to monitor and control water treatment processes such as abstraction, filtration, and disinfection.
2. Sampling and analysis to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
3. Fault finding and manual intervention to maintain processes and supply, including chemical dosing and pump duties.
4. Responding to emergencies like process or power failures, following procedures to stabilize or isolate issues.
5. Ensuring operational and public health standards, completing documentation.
6. Prioritizing health and safety, highlighting safety observations, and contributing to risk assessments.
7. Liaising with Water Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and optimize results.
8. Maintaining technical knowledge and updating procedures and standards.
9. Providing technical input for production plan delivery, asset improvements, and investigating site trips.
10. Assisting the site manager with site operations, risk assessments, and inductions.
11. Supporting efficiency programs, including peak tariff responses.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Hands-on, practical skills with attention to detail and troubleshooting.
2. A proactive 'can-do' attitude, problem-solving skills, and solution focus.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Competent with IT systems and Microsoft Office.
5. Experience with lone working, and willingness to work in confined spaces and at heights in challenging conditions.
