Nursery: Bright Horizons Sale Day Nursery and Preschool
Salary: £32,448.00 (Full time equivalent)
Location: Manchester, various sites
We are looking for a part time (24 hours Tuesday to Thursday) Regional Nursery Chef, to join Bright Horizons in Manchester. The role will require you to work and cross cover at various nurseries in and around Greater Manchester and therefore a full UK driving licence and own vehicle is a requirement.

What you’ll be doing
10. Prepare, cook, and present age-appropriate food for all the children with minimum wastage
11. Take responsibility to ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to the teams
12. Keep the kitchen a clean and safe environment, adhering to internal and external requirements
13. Have an active role in leading the cookery club sessions with the children
14. Support with other nursery activities e.g., BBQs, Fetes, and staff meetings
15. Ensure stock levels are suitably managed and recorded, in line with company procedure
16. Work in partnership with the nursery team and parents, to encourage a healthy and nutritious diet
17. Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
18. Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment
What we’re looking for
19. Previous experience within a role which involves cooking in a domestic or commercial property
20. Passion for nutrition, and inspiring others in healthy eating
21. Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – this must be passed on day 1 in post
22. Sound knowledge of COSHH
23. Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of managing different dietary requirements, particularly food allergies
24. Great communication skills, with both colleagues, children, and parents
25. Ability to work under pressure
