We are currently looking to appoint a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of English.

Main Areas of Responsibility
The Purpose Of Your Role Will Be
* To implement and deliver a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for students and support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
* To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor.
* To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their potential.
* To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
* To share and support the academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
Your main areas of responsibility will include:
* Operational and strategic planning, including lesson planning, developing resources and syllabuses, and contributing to departmental plans.
* Curriculum planning.
* Staff development, including professional development and engaging in the Performance Management Review process.
* Quality assurance, including monitoring and evaluating the subject area.
* Management of information, including maintaining records and tracking student progress.
* Communication with students, parents, and stakeholders.
* Pastoral responsibilities, including being a form tutor.
* Teaching to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will:
* Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
* Have successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and 11-18 settings.
* Understand effective teaching and learning practices.
* Recognize the importance of high expectations, equality, and being a tutor.
* Have knowledge of the National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4, including lesson planning, resource development, and assessment.
* Be a team player with positive relationships with staff.
* Possess good ICT skills, including innovative use of interactive whiteboards.
* Create a motivating and safe learning environment.
* Communicate effectively with parents and external agencies.
* Have strong written and spoken communication skills.
* Manage workload effectively.
* Motivate students and raise their aspirations.
