The Role
You'll help our busy mill run safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Your day includes:
* Control Room: Monitor and control all plant and utility operations for extended periods
* Production Floor: Perform machine set-ups, quality checks, cleaning, and operate the bagging plant
* Yard: Handle materials and support site logistics in all weather conditions
Key Responsibilities
* Follow feed safety & SHE procedures and use PPE
* Keep areas clean; perform routine plant clean downs
* Report accidents and near misses
* Operate, monitor, and adjust automated blending, press, and bagging lines
* Schedule batches and optimise throughput
* Perform machine set-up tasks
* Take routine samples, carry out quality checks and ensure meets standards
* Safely load, unload and move materials; operate forklifts, telehandlers and weighbridge
* Support safe movement of HGVs
* Keep lines topped up, support stock rotation, and assist with stock counts
* Maintain production, quality, and stock records
* Contribute to handovers and plant shutdown tasks
About You
* Manufacturing or feed milling experience preferred
* Committed to safety, SHE, and good housekeeping
* Confident using machinery and willing to learn new tasks
* Hands-on, reliable, and a practical team player
* Physically fit (able to lift up to 25kg, work outside for long periods)
* Flexible, confident with machinery, basic IT and record-keeping
Desirable:
* Telehandler, counterbalance, or loading shovel licence
* Experience or willingness to assist with HGV shunting
* Knowledge of HACCP/feed safety procedures or continuous improvement
