Business Development Manager vacancy, £37,000 – £40,000 plus bonus potential of £8000 paid quarterly along with upto 2 days remote working, 26 days holiday.

The New Business Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business revenue for an established Hotel & Conference centre through the sale of venue hire and use by local businesses. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven individual who can identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across corporate, association and agency sectors. The role operates against defined revenue and performance targets, supporting the broader commercial objectives of the venue.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Develop a deep understanding of the venues key industry sectors and local/national market through ongoing research and competitor analysis.
2. Lead the venue’s proactive sales efforts, focusing on identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities that align with commercial objectives and revenue targets
3. Build and maintain a credible sales pipeline by actively prospecting and regularly updating lead status and conversion potential.
4. Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to plan and execute local and national marketing and lead generation initiatives aimed at driving new business acquisition.
5. Represent the venue at relevant networking events, exhibitions, and industry functions to enhance brand visibility and foster client/supplier relationships.
6. Manage client engagement through hosting site visits and conducting off-site meetings, ensuring a thorough understanding of client needs and effective business closure.
7. Apply effective diary management practices to optimize yield capacity and support revenue targets.
8. Provide detailed monthly sales reports covering sales activity, pipeline development, call volumes and contracted business value
Person Specification
9. 2+ years’ experience in hotel, hospitality, event sales – essential
10. Demonstrable experience in sales – cold calling and converting warm leads
11. Knowledge and experience in B2B sales, including lead generation, pipeline management, prospecting and closing techniques.
12. Ability to identify, analyse competitor offerings, pricing and positioning to ensure we remain competitive in the market.
13. Understanding of marketing strategies and how sales and marketing teams work in collaboration to generate leads and convert prospects.
