Overview
Senior Support Worker role with the Cambian Group, the largest independent provider of care and education for children and young people. The young people in our care range between the ages of 8-18 years and have a range of behavioural and emotional needs. We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, flexible and caring people to join our team across the South West region to continue improving the lives of the young people within our care. As a Senior Support Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of their everyday lives and the positive impact you will have is immeasurable.
Shift Pattern: 16/24 Hour shifts (including Sleep-in) on a one on two off or two on four off basis.
Responsibilities
* Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager where required
* Ensuring that our team of Residential Care Workers are up to date with all mandatory learning and assisting with their individual development
* Communicating with the on-site team and raising awareness with regards to individual care plans and their implementation
* Maintaining accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation
* Contributing to team and staff meetings to facilitate good communication and staff development
* Providing support and care to the young people within our services
* Encouraging our young people in their preparation to re-enter education or to engage in their current schooling
* Traveling with our young people to and from School or College
* Preparing food at meal times and maintaining the home (cleaning, laundry etc.) to ensure a wonderful environment for the young people
* Organising and facilitating social activities
Requirements
* Must hold a full UK driving licence
* Must have the desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent Children & Young People workforce
* 12 months senior experience in a Residential setting is highly desirable, but we encourage applications from those at the start of their journey
DBS and reference checks will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice. Processing time may be extended due to these checks.
