Job description

To be responsible for the effective co-ordination, development and delivery of a range of key programmes and projects focused towards enhancing economic growth and development across the Council area. To manage the daily operations of the Mid Ulster Local Economic Partnership (LEP) and its sub-committees/task & finish groups ensuring that all service areas meet the standards required in a progressive and effective manner. Lead, plan and manage the delivery of the local LEP Action Plan to address key local economic priorities and exploit emerging opportunities. Responsibilities

* Lead, plan and manage the delivery of the Local Economic Partnership (LEP) Action Plan to access dedicated funding from the Department for the Economy (DfE).
* Manage the development, delivery and monitoring of programmes, projects and interventions identified in the LEP Action Plan, ensuring compliance with DfE’s governance/requirements and within the specific constraints of time and budget.
* Manage programme finances/budgets and lead the staff team in the development of systems, processes and procedures to ensure the implementation of effective monitoring, financial, audit and administrative procedures.
* To manage specific projects and actions within the Department, to support Council’s economic growth agenda to include the development and implementation of the MSW Regional Economic Strategy and Growth Deal.


Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

* Applicants must have a third level qualification or equivalent And a minimum of two year’s experience in the following areas:
* Developing, managing and implementing economic programmes in partnership with a range of stakeholders.
* Responsibility for managing and monitoring budgets of at least £300k and reporting financial information, including budget setting and financial claims. Managing and motivating a team of staff.
* Or who do not hold a third level qualification must have a minimum 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent including English Language and a numeracy based subject; And four years experience (see employer website).
