The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Production Engineering team is seeking Industrial Engineers to join the St. Louis 777X program located in Berkeley, MO. The 777X program is increasing production rates and our team is currently hiring for a range of experience levels including Experienced or Lead Industrial Engineer.


Position Responsibilities

1. Apply industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements.
2. Develop plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.
3. Evaluate new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.
4. Design, maintain, and optimize the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
5. Conduct work flow design and analysis.
6. Develop models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provide summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders and customers.
7. Research, design, develop, improve, and implement processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
8. Develop and implement plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.
9. Create product assembly instructions and standardize assembly practices.
10. Prepare operations plans, including work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.
11. Support execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices.
12. Provide production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support.
13. Ensure compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

* An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

* Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
* 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting
* 5+ years’ experience applying advanced knowledge and application of production engineering principles to analyze and implement manufacturing processes and methods
* 5+ years’ experience in project management and leading cross functional teams
* Experience with capacity planning, manpower forecasting, line balancing, time and motion studies, process modeling and lean manufacturing


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

* 7+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* 5+ years of experience in the field of Lean Manufacturing
* 5+ years of experience in partnering with all key functions in an integrator/lead role
* Passion for continuous improvement and desire to stabilize and improve manufacturing


Typical Education & Experience:

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.


Additional Information

* Relocation is offered based on candidate eligibility.

* Salary ranges: Level 3: $86,700 - $117,300; Level 4: $102,850 - $139,150.
