Job Description ROV Workshop Technician (Electrical) As a Workshop Technician, you'll be an integral part of the ROV Workshop team, reporting to the ROV Technician Supervisor and collaborating closely with project teams, logistics, and technical support across Fugro. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on work with ROV systems—testing, maintaining, repairing, and certifying equipment to ensure everything runs safely and efficiently. You'll also manage documentation, support pre-mobilisation load-outs, and contribute to technical and operational readiness. This role offers the chance to actively engage with project teams, helping to drive successful offshore operations. It's a dynamic position that blends technical expertise with teamwork and problem-solving. Your role and responsibilities: Ensure functionality and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems. Perform routine construction, operation, maintenance, testing, and repair of frequently used measurement equipment. Assist with complex tasks using manuals or by working on less commonly used equipment. Contribute to problem-solving by applying insights from daily work experience. Report recurring equipment issues, process inefficiencies, and hazardous situations. Escalate complex or unresolved tasks to the Senior Workshop/Maintenance Technician. Follow standard operating procedures under moderate supervision. What you’ll need to thrive in this role: Recognised apprenticeship in an electrical discipline or equivalent qualification. 18th Edition training or equivalent certification. Valid COMPEX certification. Strong knowledge of principles, techniques, and procedures for maintaining and repairing industrial electrical equipment. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, OEM manuals, and engineering instructions. Proficient in good workshop practices and hands-on technical skills.
