As a Teaching Assistant working with Teaching Personnel, you'll support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a variety of specialist settings. This role is both rewarding and dynamic, offering invaluable experience for anyone interested in working with children and young people.
Settings:
1. SEN Schools: Cater to pupils with complex needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.
2. Alternative Provisions: Support young people who may struggle in mainstream settings due to behavioural or emotional needs, often working on tailored curricula.
3. Pupil Referral Units (PRUs): Provide education to pupils excluded from mainstream schools, supporting their re-engagement with learning.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
* Assisting teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery
* Helping pupils with personal care, communication, or behaviour management (where necessary)
* Creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
* Encouraging emotional, social, and academic development
