An Essex-based local authority client of ours is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer / PSH Officer to support its Private Sector Housing function on an interim basis.
Background
The team is managing a busy caseload of complaints-driven work, including housing conditions, HMOs, and statutory nuisance. This role will play a key part in maintaining compliance and supporting effective enforcement action.
Responsibilities
Working within Environmental Health, you will:
* Investigate complaints relating to housing conditions
* Manage HMO-related casework and enforcement
* Support investigations into statutory nuisance where required
* Serve notices and take appropriate enforcement action
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council policies
* Contribute to delivering a professional, high-quality regulatory service
Skills and Experience
* Strong experience within Private Sector Housing
* Knowledge of HMO regulation and enforcement
* Statutory nuisance experience desirable but not essential
* Ability to manage varied and complex casework
* Degree or equivalent in Environmental Health (desirable)
Contract Details
* 3-month interim contract
* £45–£50 per hour (Umbrella)
* Inside IR35
* 2 days per week on site requirement
