Job Title: Finance & Cost Control Manager

We're working with an expanding skincare manufacturer and brand. To support their growth, we are looking for a
Finance & Cost Control Manager
who can take charge of financial planning, operational spending, and efficiency improvements. This is a broad role, combining both strategic input and hands-on financial management to ensure the business remains cost-efficient, compliant, and profitable.
Role Responsibilities
* Build and manage budgets, forecasts, cost models, and financial plans.
* Review business expenditure and introduce cost-saving initiatives.
* Maintain accurate accounts and oversee all daily bookkeeping activities.
* Manage debtor control to ensure stable and reliable cash flow.
* Evaluate purchasing activity with reference to stock levels and demand data.
* Provide financial analysis to highlight risks, opportunities, and trends.
* Liaise with HR and payroll providers to prepare and process monthly payroll.
* Produce statutory accounts, management reports, and year-end documentation.
* Prepare VAT returns and ensure all statutory and tax obligations are met.
* Work closely with other departments to improve resource planning and efficiency.
* Deliver insight and reporting to inform senior management decisions.
Skills & Experience Required
* Hands-on financial management experience is essential. Professional qualifications (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) or a relevant finance degree are desirable but not mandatory.
* At least 5 years' experience in finance, ideally with a focus on cost and operational control.
* Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and credit management.
* Confident using Xero (or similar accounting software) and advanced Excel.
* Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
