About the Role
We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer/Operator to contribute to the expansion of the machine shop and to train other team members. The role involves producing precision bespoke one-off tools using a variety of manual and CNC machines to customer specifications and workload demands.
Responsibilities
* Produce a high-quality product while operating a range of CNC machines and CNC lathes; program, set and operate CNC machines; maintain and improve productivity in compliance with company procedures and machine capability to meet production deadlines.
* Program, set and operate CNC machines. Proficiency with Heidenhain controls is required; Siemens and/or OneCNC experience would be advantageous.
* Operate manual milling, turning and drilling machines as required.
* Manufacture jigs and fixtures.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings to create machine programs.
* Share knowledge and provide training to less experienced team members.
* Assist the team leader in estimating manufacturing times and capabilities for quotations.
* Ensure production quality and output levels are optimized at all times.
* Assemble tools and carry out other duties as reasonable within capability, including potential secondment to other shop floor areas.
* Engage in training and development to keep skills current and drive continual improvement.
* Support a positive culture of knowledge sharing and apprenticeship/trainee development.
About You
* Proven experience in CNC programming, setting and operating.
* Proven experience in manual milling and turning machines.
* Must be able to program using Heidenhain control systems; experience with Siemens and/or OneCNC is advantageous.
* Willingness to travel regularly in the UK and worldwide as required.
* Valid driving licence and passport essential.
* You may have experience in Toolmaking, CNC Machine Operation, Machining, Engineering, Heidenhain, HAAS, Milling, CNC Turner, Tool Setter, Cutting, Manufacturing, or related fields. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
