Job Description:
Are you interested in working on innovative projects such as Erebus, Salamander, and Dolphyn? ERM is a leading consultancy in consenting floating offshore wind projects, and we need your skills!
We are seeking a Senior to Principal EIA Consultant (depending on experience) in offshore wind. Experience in consenting Scottish offshore wind projects is essential. We welcome candidates from regulatory, consulting, or developer backgrounds. ERM offers flexibility in location, with roles based at any of our offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Harrogate, York, Manchester, Norwich, Pembroke, Cardiff, Bristol, Oxford, London, or Southampton. The role follows a hybrid working model, approximately eight days per month in the office.
Our long-term clients include major developers, and our projects span onshore and offshore wind, green hydrogen, solar, battery storage, and grid connection. We also provide advisory services to government.
You will be part of a dynamic and expanding team providing environmental consultancy services, leading the work of less experienced team members. Your responsibilities include leading environmental inputs for planning applications—from screening and scoping to environmental appraisals and large-scale EIA projects, as well as post-planning condition discharge.
What’s on offer?
We promote flexible working arrangements to support your lifestyle—whether its managing school runs, working from home, or traveling. Benefits include 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays, a 6% pension contribution, biannual promotions, annual salary reviews, performance bonuses, private medical insurance, life assurance, income protection, employee assistance programs, volunteering and Give As You Earn opportunities, travel season ticket loans, premium Calm app membership, Cycle2Work Scheme, and discounts on gym memberships and retail gift cards. We foster a safety-first, diverse, and inclusive culture that values and celebrates differences. Our career framework and over 20 technical communities provide ample opportunities for professional growth.
About you
Essential for this role is experience in consenting and marine licensing for Scottish offshore wind projects. You should hold a degree in an environmental discipline and have relevant experience from consulting, regulatory, or industry roles. A comprehensive understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is also required.
