We are looking for someone to lead projects in our groundwater resources team within our successful Water Management Consultancy business. Our highly respected Water Management Consultancy team has been at the forefront of managing the challenges of providing resilient and sustainable water supplies for the future. We undertake projects including groundwater resource evaluation, development and management, and environmental impact investigations. We are expanding our team to deliver a wider range of exciting projects for water companies, major water users, and regulators. You will play a key role in growing our business through winning and delivering work across our extensive client portfolio, enhancing our reputation for technical excellence.
As an experienced hydrogeologist, you will have delivered groundwater projects in the UK and/or internationally. You will work closely with our technical specialists based in Birmingham, Epsom, Oxford, and Peterborough. We have a friendly, approachable team known for delivering excellence to multiple clients.

Responsibilities:
Joining a well-established team, you will work with technical leads to win, deliver, and manage groundwater projects and develop trusted client relationships. You will uphold high standards, influence project development, lead on projects and bids, and define and deliver outputs for complex problem-solving projects. Collaboration and support within the team are vital, and you will mentor and support junior staff. You will also work broadly on projects related to water supply, strategic planning, resource optimization, and environmental assessment.
Requirements:
* A degree in science, engineering, or mathematics, with a postgraduate qualification in hydrogeology or a related field, likely chartered through a relevant professional body.
* Substantial experience as a hydrogeologist within consultancy, water companies, regulatory bodies, or academia, including water resources hydrogeology, hydrology, WINEP investigations, signal and pumping tests, borehole design, groundwater flooding, or water resource planning.
* Good understanding of UK hydrogeology and the environmental/regulatory framework of UK water management.
* Experience leading projects through all stages, from problem definition to analysis, interpretation, and recommendations, with an innovative approach encouraged.
* Highly motivated, proactive, with excellent numerical, analytical, report-writing, and presentation skills, and an eye for detail.
* Effective communication skills at all levels, suitable for collaborative work and building client relationships.
* Valid full UK driving license.
We also seek a groundwater modelling specialist to lead projects in this area, with similar experience requirements focused on groundwater modelling in the UK.
