Job title: Quality Inspector Job location: Eastleigh, SouthamptonSalary: £41,150 with scope for some overtimeShifts: Days - 07:00 - 15:00 Duration: Fixed term contract - 18 months Start date: ASAP Industries considered: Rolling Stock, Automotive, Aviation, Armed Forces, Marine, General Engineering Client Summary: Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance. Position Summary * Perform inspections and ensure product compliance (check after rework). * Records inspection results in the industrial digital tools as required.
* Maintain inspection records per component, assembly and vehicle. * Maintain Quality documentation for components, assemblies and vehicles. * Participate in customer joint inspections.
* Preparation of approval and shipping documents. * Control the correct calibration of critical equipment's and instrumentations used in the inspections. * Reporting directly to the General Manager, Industrial Quality Engineer & or Site Industrial Quality Manager Person Profile/Experience * Strong experience in a quality/manufacturing environment, ideally in a similar role.
* Previous experience being able to read drawings / specifications and familiar with a variety of test equipment. * Good knowledge of problem-solving tools and product specification. * Strong background in Practical Problem Solving and Route Cause Analysis.
* Experience in operational activities, in documentation management & collaboration and team working. * Effective communication and interpersonal skills. * Knowledge of Quality standard (ISO9001, IRIS, CMMI, …) and quality tools.
Qualifications - ideally qualified to NVQ Level 2 in some form of engineering or manufacturing principle, however experienced individuals will still be considered.
