We're looking for a proactive Information Security Officer to help shape how we manage risk and embed strong security practices across the National Trust. You'll support our information security framework, work closely with teams to deliver practical, secure solutions, and raise awareness of good security habits.
If you're ready to grow your career while making a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.
What it's like to work here
Reporting to the Information Security Manager, you'll join a supportive, security-focused IT team committed to strengthening our security posture. We actively support professional development, encouraging certifications and hands-on experience that benefit both you and the Trust.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there'll be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there's flexibility on where you're based at other times. You'll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing
As an Information Security Officer, you'll help embed good security practices across the Trust, supporting teams to understand governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), manage risks and maintain accurate, secure information.
You'll help deliver security initiatives, working with IT, project teams, and suppliers to ensure our standards are met. This is a varied role where you'll help shape a strong security culture by raising awareness, delivering training and supporting our mission to protect people, places, and data.
You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what's possible in this role.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone with:
* a good understanding of information security principles, including GRC and frameworks like ISO 27001 or NIST
* experience supporting risk assessments and audits, with the ability to identify and track security risks and controls
* awareness of third-party security, including supporting due diligence and supplier assurance
* strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with teams and support security awareness
* familiarity with incident response, including assisting with investigations and follow-up actions
* a proactive, detail-focused approach and a desire to learn in a supportive, evolving environment
