Learning Support Assistant - Chandlers Field

Start Date: Jan 2026

Ignite Potential: About the Role

Are you passionate about making a tangible difference in a child's life? We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the dynamic team at Chandlers Field Primary Academy, one of our newer schools.

This is a fulfilling, fixed term, part-time position from January 2026 to July 2026, where you will play a crucial role, providing essential one-to-one support in Year 1 (Key Stage 1). Your focus will be on nurturing the children's potential, boosting their confidence, and ensuring they access a rich, inclusive educational experience.

Contract Term: Fixed Term (January 2026 - July 2026)

Hours: 30 hours per week (Term Time only)

Working Pattern: 08:45 – 15:15 Monday to Friday (including a 30-minute unpaid break)

Setting: Year 1 (Key Stage 1)

Key Impact Areas and Responsibilities

Working collaboratively with the class teacher, you will:

1. Champion the Pupil: Deliver tailored one-to-one support, implementing the child's health care plan (education, social, behaviour, and personal)
2. Foster Independence: Promote development and independence in a challenging and secure environment, employing strategies to recognise and reward achievement
3. Manage and Support: Use constructive behaviour management strategies in line with the school policy to promote self-control
4. Curriculum Delivery: Assist with the planning and preparation of activities and lead small group interventions.
5. Holistic Care: Assist with the welfare and well-being of the pupil, including dressing and toileting where required.

What Will Make You Stand Out

6. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine concern and understanding for children and possess the following desirable qualities:
7. Proven experience supporting young children, particularly within Key Stage
8. Strong knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice
9. Excellent ability to liaise and communicate effectively with adults and children
10. proactive approach, using initiative when necessary.
11. Familiarity with and commitment to practising safeguarding policies and procedures.
12. A relevant Level 3 diploma or equivalent qualification is desirable.

Other Information

13. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK from the location provided and not from overseas.
14. For this role the Trust would / would not consider sponsoring a Certificate of Sponsorship/visa. Please note we are unable to offer advice on any Visa and Immigration cases.
