Nursery Assistant – Plant Nursery
Location: Shropshire
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Hours: 39 hours/week
* Mon–Thurs: 08:00–16:30
* Fri: 08:00–13:30
KPI Recruiting are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our client's team at a well-established plant nursery. This hands-on role is perfect for someone with a passion for horticulture and a love of working outdoors.
Please note: This role is based at a plant nursery and involves horticultural work, not childcare.
Key Responsibilities:
* Care for a wide variety of plants, from seedlings to mature specimens
* Watering, pruning, and general plant maintenance
* Assist with propagation tasks (e.g., seed sowing, taking cuttings)
* Monitor plant health and report issues like pests or diseases
* Maintain clean, safe, and organised working areas
* Follow all health & safety procedures and company policies
* Interact professionally with colleagues, customers, and visitors
What We're Looking For:
* Genuine interest in plants, gardening, or horticulture
* Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
* Team player with a positive attitude
* Willingness to learn and follow guidance
Desirable:
* Experience in a horticultural or garden centre setting
* Basic plant knowledge (types, care, propagation)
