About the Role
The business is recruiting for a Lead Senior Civil Engineer to join their dynamic structures team. With offices and design hubs across Scotland, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Perth and more, you'll be well-placed to contribute to projects that matter.
In this leadership role, you'll drive the delivery of technically sound civil engineering solutions, mentor junior team members, and play a hands-on part in some of the country's most significant road and infrastructure schemes.
You'll be contributing to major, multi-year contracts across Scotland's road network, as well as supporting civil design projects for Transport Scotland, local authorities, and industry partners.
Key Focus Areas
* Lead the development and delivery of engineering designs in line with technical standards and project specifications
Support the preparation of high-quality documentation, calculations, and drawings
Provide day-to-day mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced engineers
Manage financial aspects of your projects, including cost control and resourcing
Engage directly with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and clear communication
Contribute to tendering, bid submissions, and business development activities
Promote health and safety excellence in all aspects of design and project work
What Youll Need
* Proven experience in civil or structural engineering, ideally in a leadership or senior technical role
Excellent technical design skills and the ability to work independently or guide a team
Experience managing health and safety responsibilities within the built environment
Comfortable being the go-to engineering contact on medium to large-scale infrastructure projects
Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management
Familiarity with industry-standard software for design and analysis
Chartered or Incorporated status (or actively working toward it) is a strong advantage
