Join our team as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Nurse.

In this key role as a school nurse within our dedicated 5-19 years team, you will take the lead in providing exceptional care to our children and young people. You will be responsible for operational and strategic management of a defined caseload, ensuring that high-quality care is delivered in line with the Healthy Child Programme.
The successful candidate will need to be role models and demonstrate a willingness to lead, support and implement change, while adhering to our trust values, ‘we listen, we care, we deliver’. Main duties of the job
To contribute to the development of School Nursing within a Public Health 0-19 Family Health Service which ensures the delivery of effective healthcare to a culturally diverse school aged population in Bradford and Airedale.
Contribute to the leadership of a newly formed district wide School Nursing team and being part of a wider 0-19 family health service within 4 localities consisting of 0-5 teams with members of 0-19 Prevention and Early Help Service, leading more junior colleagues, supporting and challenging practice, nurturing the development of others to ensure that the service delivered is to a safe and high quality.
Manage your own School Nursing caseload effectively acting as a role model to others within a skill mixed school nursing team, offering advice, support and guidance.

1. Registered Nurse 1st level or Registered Midwife School Nurse qualification - Certificate / Diploma / Specialist Community Public Health Practitioner (School Nursing) Degree. Current NMC Registration
Desirable criteria
2. Teaching and assessing in clinical practice qualification. Practice Assessor Counselling skills qualification. Family planning. Child and adolescent mental health qualification. Registered Nurse (Child Branch) or RSCN
