If so, we are looking for people like you to work in our Theatres at Good Hope Hospital as a Theatre Support Worker. The post holder will undertake the movement of patients, equipment and designated items throughout the hospital and will contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment. This will involve moving of patients on trolleys and beds within Theatre and the hospital.

As we are a 24/7 service you will need to work days, nights, weekends, bank holidays and on calls. These posts are full time and part time.


Main duties of the job

As a Band 2 Theatre support worker you should be motivated, have a keen interest in the peri-operative environment and excellent communication skills. No experience is required for this post as full training and support will be given.

All new starters are supported in their work area by the theatre clinical education team as well as the theatres teams themselves.

You will be required to cover a range of shifts, which will include weekends, bank holidays, early/late/night duty, and the out of hours on call services.


Qualifications and Experience

* Functional skills Level 2 English Language and Maths Qualification or GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English Language
* Care Certificate or evidence or Training & Development associated with Health Care Support Worker role
* Level 2/3 NVQ/ Diploma in care
* Recent previous experience in a care environment
* Experience of working / participating as part of a team.

* Good communication skills -- written and oral
* Good time keeping
* Ability to work with competing priorities
* Flexible approach to shift patterns and place of work
