We are recruiting for an exciting new Business Development function at MDX Technology, and are searching for highly motivated, enthusiastic graduates looking for a career in sales in the financial services sector.
The Business Development Manager (BDM) role is an entry level role which provides a platform to learn the foundations of sales, prospecting and delivering new business, with the objective of progressing to sales executive level within one year.
The purpose of the role is to book qualified meetings for the sales team through a research-led approach contacting targeted personas and organisations in the financial services sector. The role provides an opportunity to participate in sales meetings, and learn on-the-job sales skills and about the financial services world. The BDM will be supported and trained by the Operations Manager and wider management team all the way.
The role will suit an ambitious, hardworking, results orientated, target driven, competitive person, who is looking to pursue a career in sales. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and willingness to learn and be coached. Individuals who excel in the role can expect to quite rapidly progress to become sales executives, managing their own direct book of business within the organisation.
The role is office-based in Shoreditch, London, working very closely with the sales team and the wider management team at MDX.
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for following up on marketing campaign leads
Researching target accounts that meet a key standard
Identifying key people within the accounts team through LinkedIn / other platforms
Emailing the prospect with the company’s sales messaging as directed by the Operations Manager
Responsible for booking meetings and/or virtual meetings for the Sales Team
Ability to have a ‘Discovery’ conversation with the client and qualify the sales opportunity
Ability to repeat this cycle on a continuous basis
Experience, knowledge, and skills required:
Ability to understand complex concepts quickly
Excellent level of written and spoken English
High level of self-motivation
Well organised and able to work to deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Have the understanding and ability to use the company provided IT systems, such as Email, Excel, Word, CRM
Understanding of business-to-business communication skills; ability to write emails using business language and terms
Tenacity to meet sales meeting targets, enjoying the challenge of the role, and not being disheartened by rejection.
