Due to continued growth, new market opportunities and sustained high workload, a manufacturing business in the wood-based products sector is looking to recruit additional Counterbalance FLT Drivers. As a Counterbalance FLT Driver, you will support the production and warehouse teams to ensure order schedules are met, and support the business to continue to deliver the service standards it has maintained for many years. The Counterbalance FLT Driver plays a vital role in helping to maintain commercially attractive lead times while delivering high-quality products safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
* FLT Operations: Safely operate a Counterbalance forklift to transport finished goods from production lines to storage or dispatch areas.
* Packing & Preparation: Pack, wrap, and strap finished products onto pallets for shipment.
* Loading/Unloading: Load finished goods onto lorries and unload incoming raw materials.
* Inventory Management: Perform stock checks, scan, and label products accurately, ensuring the right items are dispatched.
* Safety & Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-shift forklift checks, report faults, and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
* Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Valid License: An in-date, accredited Counterbalance Forklift License is essential.
* Experience: Proven experience operating a Counterbalance FLT, typically 1 to 3 years.
* Physical Fitness: Capability to lift heavy items and work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
* Attention to Detail: High accuracy in reading orders, scanning, and inspecting product quality.
* Communication: Ability to work well in a team and liaise with production managers or drivers
