We are looking for a Locum Consultant Dermatologist who holds a Diploma in Dermatology or an equivalent qualification and can assist with the triage of dermatology referrals as required.
National Locums is currently hiring Consultant Dermatologists and SPR/Associate Specialists to cover the following areas:
1. Minor operations
2. Biologics
3. Two-week wait (2ww) clinics
4. Waiting list initiatives (WLIs) and patient backlog clearing
Pay rates start from £800 per day and can go up to £2500 per day. Since most of this work is private clinic-led, payment will be made via your limited company, umbrella, or as a self-employed practitioner. The contract duration ranges from 3 months up to 1 year.
The role requires the ability to see general dermatology patients directly referred by GPs, undertake appropriate investigations, diagnose conditions, and recommend treatments.
When appropriate, refer patients back to their GPs with advice for ongoing management, or refer for a senior consultant dermatologist opinion, plastic surgeon, or dermatology specialist nurse.
You will work in conjunction with and support the dermatology nurse specialist through joint patient reviews and provide advice on dermatological cases.
Procedures include diagnostic biopsies, cryotherapy, curettage, and cautery.
The successful candidate will have nursing support during clinics.
