A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a social worker to join our forensic services on a maternity cover fixed-term contract, ending 16th August 2026.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic social worker to work across our secure in-patient and community settings, within the locality and out of area. You will be supporting service users with a forensic history to integrate and transition through the secure forensic pathway into the community. The post holder will be responsible for undertaking statutory duties on behalf of the local authority which will include the completion of assessments and support planning under the Care Act 2014.
They will receive professional and managerial supervision as well as peer support and continual professional development.
They will be social worker with a passion for working with individuals who have complex needs associated with their mental health condition. They will have knowledge of the Mental Health Act and criminal justice system. The successful candidate will be expected to facilitate and promote links to the wider community services and work in partnership as required
Unfortunately given the timescale/contract duration of this post, we will be unable to support anyone undertaking their ASYE.
The post holder will assess and provide interventions related to a range of difficulties for service user's within forensic pathways. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as with partner agencies and community care providers. As such, the post holder must be committed to collaborative working and have an excellent teamwork ethos.
The post holder should be motivated by the opportunity to become part of the growing workforce in this mental health provision. They will be responsible for developing the role by demonstrating excellence in person centred care, providing and demonstrating robust working and working with multiple external agencies to support service users through their recovery journey.
To provide a social work service in a community/hospital setting in order to promote service user recovery and social inclusion.
Discharges statutory social care functions on behalf of the organisation.
Assesses and arranges delivery of social care packages for caseload service users.
