Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Commutable from Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Luton, Leighton Buzzard, Dunstable, Buckingham, Hemel Hempstead, and Bedford
Salary: OTE GBP 54,000+ (including shift premium + over time basic GBP 47,000)
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 3:shift system (8:hour shifts)
No weekends : site closed over Christmas week
The Role
We are seeking a Multi:Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical Bias, who also has strong mechanical skills, to join a busy manufacturing environment.
You will be responsible for maintaining and improving both new and existing plant equipment, ensuring safe, efficient operation and minimal downtime across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical maintenance, fault finding, repair, and overhaul of heavy process and plant machinery
Electrical installation, modification, and commissioning of equipment
Supporting mechanical strip:down, fitting, and installation tasks as required
Working on control panels, motors, sensors, drives, and automation equipment
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and CAD drawings
Electrical fault finding on production and process equipment (primary focus)
Supporting the transition from a reactive breakdown environment to a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) structure
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will:
Be a multi:skilled engineer with strong electrical fault:finding ability and good mechanical understanding
Have experience in heavy industry such as aggregates, mining, quarrying, manufacturing, recycling, or similar environments (other backgrounds considered)
Be confident working in a fast:paced, breakdown:focused environment
Have hands:on experience with electrical maintenance, installation, and fault diagnosis
Be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Mechanical fitting experience is advantageous
