We have a new opportunity within our IT Operations team for a keen individual wanting to complete their Level 3 IT Apprenticeship whilst learning valuable transferrable skills towards their career in IT. We are seeking someone with a genuine interest in IT systems who has a flexible and adaptable attitude.
The role:
You will be working within Macmillan Distribution's Technology team, based at our Basingstoke office, supporting a range of internal and external customers and clients. You may also visit our Swansea distribution centre from time to time.
You will support the business-critical Vista system processes and connected systems by handling incoming queries and managing help requests from end users via email, phone, self-service portal, or walk-in.
You will also be responsible for ensuring all IT Operations processes are clearly and efficiently documented.

Do you have the skills to be an excellent team member? You will need to work with all levels of the business, acting with integrity and diplomacy. You should be passionate about delivering great customer service, a clear communicator, and confident in presenting issues and solutions to other teams.
Feedback will be provided regularly to support your learning, so a flexible and open attitude towards this is essential, as the issues you handle will vary daily.
Our distribution’s business is time-critical; therefore, you must be able to work within time constraints, focus on current tasks, and stay organized—these are essential skills.
What you will learn:
During your apprenticeship, you will gain a strong understanding of distribution systems, methodologies, processes, and guidelines. You will also gain experience in solution design and delivery within a technology environment. You will have half a day each week dedicated to completing your Level 3 IT Apprenticeship award. Hours are on a rotating 3-shift pattern:
07:00 - 15:00 (home-based), 09:00 - 17:00 (home-based), & 12:00 - 19:00 (office-based)
Once trained, you will also support systems outside regular hours on a rota basis between 19:00 - 23:00, which is home-based.
