Job Summary
The Head Housekeeper plays a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of the hotel. This position requires a dedicated individual with a strong background in hospitality and janitorial services, ensuring that all guest areas are impeccably clean and well-organised. The Head Housekeeper will lead a team of housekeepers, providing training, support, and guidance to ensure high standards of cleanliness and service.
Duties
* Oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas meet established cleanliness standards.
* Manage and train housekeeping staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high performance.
* Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and common areas to ensure adherence to quality standards.
* Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and address any guest concerns promptly.
* Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels.
* Implement health and safety protocols within the housekeeping department to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
* Develop schedules for housekeeping staff to ensure adequate coverage during peak times while managing labour costs effectively.
Qualifications
* Previous hotel experience is essential, with a strong understanding of hospitality standards.
* Demonstrated janitorial experience, showcasing an ability to maintain high cleanliness standards in various settings.
* Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams effectively.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with guests and team members alike.
