Working Hours: 30 hours per week - The service runs between 8am and 8pm (work pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate)
Salary: £24,640 per annum (salary pro rata for part-time hours)
Location: (Place Based) North Norfolk - Aylsham, Cromer, Holt, and surrounding areas
*Due to the nature of the role, a driver’s license and access to a vehicle are essential. Mileage is paid at 45p per mile for cars after deducting the home to work base mileage.
The Role
We are recruiting a Peer Support Worker to join our Social Recovery Team. This role is ideal for someone with personal experience of mental health challenges who has used those experiences to foster resilience and recovery. As a Peer Support Worker, you will use your lived experience to connect with clients, offering hope, understanding, and practical support.
Responsibilities include maintaining a caseload of clients, sharing your recovery journey professionally, empowering individuals, and supporting their social inclusion, confidence, independence, and autonomy.
Core Responsibilities:
* Share your personal recovery journey appropriately.
* Empower individuals to manage their recovery.
* Deliver Peer Support Work using your lived experience.
* Manage your diary effectively.
* Maintain a caseload of clients.
* Provide effective peer support within the Social Recovery Service in Norfolk and Waveney.
We are looking for candidates who have:
* Experience working with diverse groups.
* A passion for supporting others with various needs.
* Experience in a recovery-focused organization.
* Ability to create positive professional relationships.
* Experience liaising with support services including police and ambulance teams.
* Essential: Lived experience of your own mental health recovery journey.
