Senior Support Worker - Oakfield, Cardiff - Full Time 40.25 hours per week - 9 month Fixed Term Contract for Maternity Cover
Hourly Rate From £12.80 to £13.70 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Oakfield is a two-part service that operates with one vision; to enrich the lives of others and nurture a brighter future. Registered as an independent school and children’s home, Oakfield provides specialist education and residential services for children and young people aged 8-19 years with complex needs related to autism.
You will be assisting in the day-to-day management of the home and help improve the lives of the individuals we support. You will play a vital role in both the home and wider organization, acting as a positive role model to staff and supported individuals.

A day in the life of a Senior Support Worker with Orbis Education and Care involves:
* Supporting children/young people entering the college for the first time, moving between residential units, or leaving their current home, helping them prepare for change and become familiar with the new environment, responding to any distress they may experience.
* Assisting in maintaining service standards.
* Supporting reporting and evidence gathering activities.
* Participating in assessment, development, and review of support and care plans.
* Supporting new staff during their induction and helping them understand their roles and the needs of residents, providing feedback on performance to managers.
To be a successful Senior Support Worker with Orbis Education and Care, you’ll need:
* Experience in a support environment.
* QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
* Knowledge of statutory regulations.
* Lead by example and act as a positive role model.
* Upload company policies and standards.
* Understanding and adherence to safeguarding procedures.
* Good awareness of conducting Health and Safety risk assessments.
Please note: This role involves regulated activity with children and young people and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
