We are looking for a proactive and professional Site Surveying Engineer to join our team and help us maintain our high standards and commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
To plan, manage, and execute the Company’s site engineering surveying activities, while supporting the site manager in quality assurance, supervision, and the day-to-day delivery of the project.
* Plan, programme, and execute site engineering surveying tasks, including pre-commencement base inspections, structural alignments, and as-built surveys.
* Ensure surveying activities are carried out in full compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and environmental policies.
* Support the site manager with quality inspections and supervision when required.
* Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of site and surveying activities, including daily diaries and equipment calibration logs.
* Liaise with subcontractors to ensure survey accuracy, and verify their work where required.
* Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients and their teams, representing Bourne in a professional and collaborative manner.
* Coordinate and oversee subcontracted engineering surveyors when needed.
* Contribute to a positive safety culture by engaging in safety initiatives and adhering to safe working practices at all times.

The role is site based and as locations can vary the post holder must be willing to travel and stay away from home as required
Knowledge:
* Good understanding of the construction industry and current experience of working in a site environment
* Demonstrable knowledge of site Health and Safety legislation and good practice.
* Demonstrable knowledge of the requirements and application of Eurocode, BS and NSSS for accuracy of alignment of steel-framed structures and associated products.
Experience:
* In the setting out and alignment of the following types of structure:
* Medium rise structure (5-15 storeys)
* Low rise structures (<5 storeys) and portal frames.
* Industrial structures (power and process)
* Rail
* Refurbishment and welding.
* Current experience in operation and maintenance, quality and recording systems.
Qualifications:
* SMSTS
* 4 day 1 st
* Qualification in use of total station surveying equipment.
* Full UK driving license.
* Proficient in the use of modern surveying equipment (e.g., Leica, Trimble, GNSS) and software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
* Familiarity with setting out techniques, topographical surveys, and structural alignments
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
