Job Description
We are looking for a candidate who is confident working with systems and can support a diverse range of customers and software providers. Experience, interest or strong knowledge in HR and Payroll systems, data, reporting, data analysis and system improvement is desired. The role will involve supporting the delivery of system improvements and projects as part of the Council’s Corporate Systems Improvement (CSI) Programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Support first‑line users of the HR, Payroll and Recruitment system (iTrent), including investigating issues, escalating cases to the software provider and monitoring fault resolution
* Assist the team with user acceptance testing for regular system releases
* Develop and maintain reports for payroll vetting, statutory returns and ad‑hoc customer requests
* Support Senior Technical Delivery Officers with system improvement projects and implementing process changes as part of the CSI programme
* Collaborate with HR, Payroll, project teams and IT developers to support system delivery and improvement
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience (or developing experience) in administering an HR and Payroll database (iTrent experience is desirable but not essential)
* Experience or interest in system testing, support and maintenance
* Experience with reporting tools such as Excel, Business Objects, Power BI or similar
* Interest in supporting system improvements and digital transformation initiatives
* Understanding of information governance and good data handling

Additional Information
Starting salary will be pro rata if the position is less than 37 hours or is term‑time only. Travel to and from your contractual location is at your own expense. The role is flexible, with both home and office working available.
