SWORD Engineering Ltd is a small, family run engineering business based in Wem, Shropshire - recycling industry specialists working for some of the largest Waste Management Companies in the UK. Also working in the packaging, quarrying, food & beverage industries and local council depots, work is varied and interesting.
An opportunity exists for a strong self-motivated, high achieving Business Development Manager with a proven track record within welding and metal fabrication engineering sales. The underlying objective is to further develop an existing client base in a competitive market. Identifying new business opportunities and ensuring our customer needs and expectations are met on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
* Initiate contact with potential clients via phone, email, and other communication channels to introduce SWORD Engineering's products and services and create interest
* Utilise various methods, including online research, cold calling, email campaigns, and networking, to generate high-quality leads
* Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions
* Prepare quotations, negotiate contracts and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets
* Maintaining accurate contact records and a detailed sales pipeline using CRM software
* Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor analysis, and potential areas for growth
* Create and deliver successful presentations – (all levels)
* Provide ongoing support to clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Candidates must have proven experience in a business to business Engineering Sales capacity dealing in a small/medium size welding/fabrication environment, with achieved target sales in excess of £1,000,000 per annum.
Proven sales and managerial experience within material handling systems/solutions and /or Waste, Recycling and Fabrication industries essential.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills
Proven track record of success in business development or sales roles
HOURS & BENEFITS:
30 days annual leave inclusive of statutory holidays, increasing to 32 days after 12 months service, pension scheme, company events.
