Responsibilities
* Perform a range of respiratory diagnostic tests, including spirometry, lung function testing, and gas transfer analysis
* Prepare patients and explain procedures, ensuring informed consent and patient comfort
* Operate and maintain respiratory diagnostic equipment in line with clinical standards
* Analyse and interpret physiological data, identifying abnormal results and escalating where appropriate
* Produce accurate and timely clinical reports and documentation
Person specification
* Qualifications
o Degree in Clinical Physiology, Healthcare Science, or a related discipline
* Registration & Certification
o Registration with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) or the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) (or working towards)
o Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
o Enhanced DBS
* Key Skills
o Strong technical knowledge of respiratory physiology and lung function testing
o Ability to analyse and interpret physiological data accurately
o Excellent communication and patient-care skills
o High attention to detail and clinical accuracy
o Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
o Good IT and reporting skills
* Experience
o Experience working as a Respiratory Physiologist or within a respiratory diagnostics service
o Experience performing spirometry, lung function testing, and other respiratory investigations
o Experience working in an NHS or hospital setting
o Experience supervising or supporting junior staff is desirable
