The role
As a Programme Systems Engineering Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will work collaboratively, leading a team of multi-discipline engineers, subject matter experts (SME) and the customer to deliver solutions. You will use your knowledge to manage solutions through the design, build, integration, transition and acceptance phases, ensuring compliance with appropriate engineering governance and best practice.
Day to day, you’ll:
1. Develop, inspire and motivate a multi-discipline engineering team ranging from SME Engineering Leads to our new generation of graduates and trainee’s
2. Be responsible for the engineering team’s adherence to schedule producing compliant engineering deliverables in accordance with policy and best engineering practice
3. Communicate clearly with Project Managers and Programme Design Authority (PDA) to maintain alignment of outputs
4. Develop and communicate plans and tactical actions, focusing on value-add and de-risking for customers in conjunction with the PDA.
5. Be responsible for working with design authority for the creation of solutions, from concepts through to in-life support, maintaining a focus on quality
6. Manage the engineering governance for the programme, liaising with the Chief Engineer
This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and will be based onsite at Ashton House with hybrid working from home arrangements.

Essential experience of the Programme Systems Engineering Manager
7. Demonstrable systems engineering management and solution design and delivery experience
8. Full Lifecycle engineering management experience
9. Knowledge of UK MoD practices and ways of working
10. Software & Hardware integration experience
Qualifications for the Programme Systems Engineering Manager
11. Degree or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering. HNC/HND with equivalent relevant experience is valued and welcomed
12. Chartered Engineer or working towards
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintaina minimum of Security Check (SC)security clearance for this role.
