As a Senior Participation Wellbeing Practitioner focusing on participation and user involvement in CAMHS, you will be responsible for supporting and managing the team of CAMHS Youth Ambassadors. The Youth Ambassadors have been employed on 15 hour contracts each, promoting the needs of the children and young people (CYP) using our commissioned services in ensuring their and their carers and families views are heard and acted upon. The team work closely with the Service Manager, Operational and Local leads across CAMHS and have both individual and team projects they have been working on throughout the year. As the team lead, you will be supervising the Ambassadors, supporting them to deliver project outcomes and liaising with the staff network to ensure they are fully integrated into the service.
You will need to be confident, engaging and compassionate, able to extend warm and welcoming invitations to young people using our services working with them to shape and influence services, development, provision and redesign based on their experiences of using our commissioned services.
You also work to team, which means holding a small caseload and allowing you to develop your skills
The post first started in 2024 and while it has clear parameters and expectations, there will be opportunities to positively shape and influence the role and build and develop important relationships with stakeholders and partners.
Main duties of the job
Working with Children, Young People (CYP) /families/carers/local community groups to build relationships and develop a strong, vibrant and lasting resource that can help shape our services
Support and line manage Youth Ambassadors with tasks and projects. Organising Supervision and team meetings to ensure the priorities of the team are met.
Support the Youth Ambassadors with navigating the work environment, signposting to Occupational Health and health and wellbeing support on offer in the Trust as well as coaching them to get the most out of their role as Youth Ambassadors.
Working with CYP and families/carers in groups to enable them to contribute to service development and service improvement
Organising the Youth Ambassador presence on interview panels, team away days, Business Management meetings and local events.
Supporting the Youth Ambassadors to set up; chairing and co-chairing of meetings when appropriate e.g. participation workshops and Forums. Ensure Participation forum meeting invitations are sent out, minutes and actions are taken during the meeting and circulated to the group in good time. This will involve co-ordinating with the existing service user leads in the boroughs
Supporting the Youth Ambassadors to lead on developing more engagement for participation forums, create training and activity opportunities and engage clinical staff to join. Working closely with the Clinical Facilitators of the Service User forums and lead on ideas for promoting SUI throughout the Trust.
