Nuclear Engineering Manager – Submarines
Location: Barrow-in-Furness – Onsite

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Nuclear Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the complex delivery of the Test & Commissioning program. Your responsibilities will include:
* Coordinating and supervising all aspects of the program to ensure products are integrated, safe, and compliant.
* Planning and reviewing activities to meet cost, quality, time, and schedule requirements.
* Ensuring adherence to the Operational Framework and compliance with all Test & Commissioning policies.
* Participating in the Reactor Test Group and preparing necessary documentation.
* Acting as the Nuclear Authorisation & Test Evaluation Committee Chairman when required.
* Assessing and developing team members to maximize their contributions.
* Optimizing performance and efficient use of Test & Commissioning resources.
* Reviewing processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Your Skills and Experience:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Capability to hold Duly Authorised Persons appointment for nuclear hold-points.
* Demonstrable experience in Nuclear/Reactor Systems and/or Propulsion Systems Testing & Commissioning (submarine experience preferred).
* Strong leadership skills to manage the Commissioning Team effectively.
* Experience in managing delivery to plan and schedule in a similar environment.
* Deep understanding of Nuclear Site Authorisation/Conditions and/or COMAH.
* Excellent communication skills to convey complex engineering processes.
* Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Understanding of technical issues across various engineering and commissioning disciplines.
* Typically an Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartership, with relevant institute membership.
* ILM Level 2/3 or CMI Level 3/5.
* MBA/MSc/Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

The Nuclear (Reactor) Commissioning Team:
In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the Test and Commissioning team, managing individual boat contracts and interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders. We provide tailored relocation support for all Submarine roles, subject to eligibility criteria.
