C Hanlon Facilities Management is a growing, compliance-led property maintenance contractor operating across social housing and government-linked frameworks throughout Scotland.
We have recently opened a new branch in Newcastle as part of our continued expansion and are experiencing consistent growth across all workstreams. This is a key stage in our development, and we are strengthening our internal governance structure to support that growth.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Health & Safety Manager to lead our safety, compliance and workforce governance function.
This is a senior role reporting directly to the Managing Director.

You will have the opportunity to influence standards, embed structure and play a key role in shaping compliance as the company continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Leadership
* Manage and continuously improve the company Health & Safety Management System
* Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations, HASAWA 1974 and associated legislation
* Produce, review and audit RAMS across all workstreams
* Conduct regular site inspections and compliance audits
* Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
* Monitor trends and introduce preventative strategies
* Deliver toolbox talks and workforce safety training
Compliance & Governance
* Maintain ISO standards and third-party accreditations (including BM TRADA requirements)
* Lead client audits and compliance reviews
* Support tender submissions with safety and governance documentation
* Maintain risk registers and provide structured reporting to senior management
Workforce & HR Support
* Support onboarding processes and inductions
* Maintain training records and competency matrices
* Ensure workforce certifications and compliance records remain current
* Assist with investigations and basic HR processes where required
This is not a standalone HR role, but someone comfortable supporting workforce compliance within a growing contractor environment.
What We Are Looking For
* NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum requirement)
* Experience within construction, maintenance or social housing
* Strong understanding of regulatory and audit environments
* Experience managing accreditations and external audits
* Confident communicator who can influence at all levels
* Organised, structured and commercially aware
