Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Registered Midwife
2. A degree level qualification in midwifery or working towards
3. Mentorship/ teaching and assessing course
4. Teaching ‘qualification’ (ENB 997 or equivalent)
5. Evidence of ongoing professional development
6. Post graduate qualification – Teaching
Desirable criteria
7. Examination of the Newborn trained
8. PROMPT/NLS /AIMS trained /instructor
9. MSc or equivalent level of skills, experience and knowledge
10. Trained to give BCG Vaccinations Experience of teaching antenatal education
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
11. Post registration experience
12. Experience of being a mentor within a professional context
13. Demonstrate an understanding of evidence-based practice
14. Evidence of understanding and facilitating change in practice
15. An understanding of current developments in the NHS
16. Demonstrates an understanding of the concept of clinical and shared governance
