BIM Lead
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 per annum (DOE)
An established built-environment consultancy is seeking an experienced BIM Lead to take ownership of BIM standards, governance, and digital coordination across major design projects.
This is a senior, influential role focused on how BIM is implemented, controlled, and continuously improved across the business. You will act as the central authority on BIM processes, supporting multiple project teams and ensuring consistent, high-quality digital delivery.
The Role
As a BIM Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that all project teams are working to the same agreed BIM standards, procedures, and workflows.
Your responsibilities will include:

Implementing and enforcing organisational BIM standards and procedures
*
Managing project information within Common Data Environments (CDEs), ensuring data security and compliance
*
Validating models (geometric and data QA) and resolving technical issues
*
Preparing and maintaining BIM Execution Plans and project-specific documentation
*
Coordinating linked models across multiple design disciplines
*
Providing BIM training, mentoring, and technical support to project teams
*
Supporting the implementation and use of BIM-related software and digital tools
*
Managing BIM content, libraries, and templates
*
Communicating changes to standards and procedures across the business
*
Ensuring compliance with relevant government and industry BIM standards
This role combines hands-on technical oversight with process leadership and internal stakeholder management.
About You
You will be an experienced BIM professional with a background in design consultancy environments, such as architecture or multidisciplinary building design.
You will typically have:

Proven experience as a BIM Lead, BIM Manager, or Senior BIM Coordinator
*
A design-led background (architecture, architectural technology, or multidisciplinary design preferred)
*
Strong experience with BIM authoring and coordination tools (e.g. Revit, Navisworks)
*
In-depth understanding of BIM standards, workflows, and CDEs
*
Experience training and supporting designers across multiple projects
*
The confidence to enforce standards and influence ways of working
