Project Manager - Local Plan Programme (6 Month Contract) Location: Hybrid working (Observatory House, Slough Remote) Hours: 37 hours per week Contract Length: 6 months (extension possible) Pay: £58 per hour paid umbrella Slough Borough Council is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the next stage of the Local Plan Programme, which will guide the borough's development over the next few years. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of Slough, ensuring the Local Plan is completed and submitted for examination by December 2026. Key Responsibilities: Lead the commissioning of critical studies, including the Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment, Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Needs Assessment, and Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report. Update and refine the project plan, ensuring key milestones are met. Work closely with teams to review the evidence base and ensure it aligns with local and national policies. Support the creation of reports and documentation needed for submission. What We're Looking For: Proven experience in project management, ideally within local government or planning. A solid understanding of planning policies, local development frameworks, and evidence-based planning. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Working Arrangements: The role will be hybrid, requiring a regular presence at our Slough office (Observatory House), typically on Wednesdays. There is flexibility to work two days bi-weekly, depending on your preference. This is a 6-month contract with the potential for extension based on performance and project needs.
