School Crossing Patrol Officer - St Francis' Primary

Join Essex County Council’s School Crossing Patrol Team as a School Crossing Patrol Officer at St Francis' RC Primary School, London Road, Maldon CM9 6HN, and support your local community.
Assist in school crossings twice daily—morning and afternoon—to ensure pedestrian safety around the school and nearby areas.
We seek a punctual, reliable, approachable individual who enjoys engaging with the public.
This role is approximately 7.5 hours per week, with holiday pay included. You need to be available during the 39-week academic year, working around 45 minutes in the morning (08:00 - 09:00) and 45 minutes in the afternoon (14:45 - 15:45), depending on site needs. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of disabled pedestrians, especially those with mobility impairments.
* Maintain contact with schools attended by crossing users.
* Assess risks at the crossing site regularly and report problems or defects.
* Assist in preparing reports on accidents or incidents at the crossing.
* Keep uniform and equipment in good condition and request replacements as needed.
* Give clear signals to drivers to stop traffic and ensure pedestrians cross safely.
