We are working exclusively with a world-renowned University who are looking to recruit a Director of Facilities & Estates Management. This role will be based in Bedfordshire but cover sites in Oxfordshire, Salisbury and Milton Keynes.
This exciting and unique position will head up their Facilities Professional Services Unit – key responsibilities include developing & implementing their estates strategy and masterplan which supports both the Academic and Financial Strategy to ensure all aspects are aligned. Deliver on opportunities identified within the masterplan, looking for tenants / land developers, knowledge of appropriate legal agreements and working with lawyers and in-house legal team to push these opportunities through to completion. You will have support from the Facilities and Estates department and be responsible for line management duties.
There are plenty of exciting redevelopment projects within the Masterplan, so you will present proposals to the Capital Planning committee, Executive(s), University Finance Committee and external Council bodies. As part of the implementation, you will collaborate closely with senior colleagues and be responsible for heading up purchases, disposals, rentals, and the associated legal arrangements.
Director of Facilities & Estates Management Requirements:
* Diverse and strategic estates & facilities management experience is essential.
* Previous experience managing university, educational, commercial, life sciences, airport, defence or NHS estates would be advantageous.
* Experience working with and advising local authorities would be advantageous.
* Strong written and communication skills.
* Strong IT and Microsoft skills.
* Strategic thinker and able to advise internal and external stakeholders.
* Membership of professional organisation such as RICS, CIOB or RIBA, and/or relevant Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH/IOSH).
Salary from £100,000 - £125,000 plus an impressive annual leave allocation and pension offering.
Office based on campus in Bedfordshire, plus site visits and some flexible working from home on offer.
