We are currently recruiting for a Project Structural Engineer to support our Glasgow-based structures team and assist with providing multi-disciplinary consultancy design services to RPS’s contractor, developer, and utility clients.
You will design, check, and manage all elements of the design of multi-disciplinary projects. The role involves detailed structural analysis, design checks, site inspections, supervision of construction, and developing relationships with contractor clients. You will coordinate geotechnical and civil resources across offices, project manage design aspects from concept to construction, and represent the team to clients, helping to secure new work.
Qualifications:
* BEng, MEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or similar
* Graduate membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers or similar, with development objectives desirable. The candidate would join RPS’ ICE-approved training scheme and work towards ICE development goals.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
* Postgraduate experience in a consulting engineering environment or similar
* Knowledge of engineering design procedures and construction processes
* Proficiency with structural analysis and 3D modelling software
* Experience with structural materials: concrete, steel, timber, masonry
* Knowledge of BS/EN standards
* Experience in structural condition inspections is beneficial

* Report to the Structures Technical Director and senior team members
* Produce design packages for various project phases
* Coordinate with environmental, geotechnical, civil, and other disciplines
* Assist in technical knowledge sharing and development
* Prepare tender submissions and presentations
* Act as a point of contact for clients on selected work packages
* Guide and supervise junior staff
* Support financial targets and project delivery
* Participate in structural inspections and asset condition reporting
